Getting here and getting around
What is there to do near Flathead Lake in summer?
Boating, kayaking and paddleboarding on the lake, a day in Glacier National Park 45 minutes north, whitewater rafting and fly fishing on the Flathead River, the alpine slide at Whitefish, and cherry orchards along the east shore through late July.
What is there to do near Flathead Lake in winter?
Skiing at Blacktail Mountain 20 minutes away and Whitefish Mountain Resort 35 minutes away, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, the alpine coaster which runs year round, and the heated pool and hot tub back at the estate.
Which airport should we fly into?
Glacier Park International Airport, 35 minutes from the estate, with direct flights from Seattle, Denver, Minneapolis, Chicago, Dallas and several other cities. Rent a car; the valley is not walkable between towns.
Do we need a car?
Yes. Downtown Lakeside is two minutes away by car, and everything else worth doing, including Glacier National Park and the ski areas, is a drive. Parking at the estate is free and unrestricted.
Base yourself in the middle of it
Two minutes to the lake, 45 to Glacier, and a heated pool for when you get back.
